Farms Competition:

Throughout the year and behind the scenes our Farms Competitions Committee organise a programme of classes and individual competitions 'judged on farm'. The Association is indebted to the Sponsors of these competitions and to all those who help to make the event such a success. Classes are held in the categories below and winners are awarded points towards the final championship of the year The Victor Ludorum Trophy. This coverted award, generously sponsored by Stags, is given to the competitor who gains the most points throughout the year in the variety of classes.

Grass Leys (1&2yr & 3yr and Over)
Field Maize
Silage (Grass Clamp/Maize Clamp/Big Bale)
Winter Wheat
Winter Oats
Winter Barley
Field Potatoes
Commercial Beef Herds
Dairy Herds (Large/Small)
Sheep Flocks (Large & Small Commercial/Pedigree Large & Small)
Best Farmed Farm (up to 200 acres/over 200 acres)

The season is brought to a close with a Dinner/Dance evening where the presentation of awards takes place.
