The Honiton & District Agricultural Association hold their 129thshow on Thursday, 1st August 2019. We have already secured some exhilarating acts for the Main Ring including the fantastic Jamie Squibb and his Freestyle Motocross Arena Stunt Show as seen on BBC’s One Show performing breath-taking jumps mid-air, a real crowd pleaser.  We are excited to welcome The Devil’s Horsemen, Europe’s number one stunt and trick riding team performing with some of the world’s best known horses with recent film credit; Les Miserables.  The fabulous Sheep Show returns with their Dancing Sheep, a real spectacle not to be missed.  The Grand Parade is an amazing scene and the real heart of the show – the Cattle and Sheep prize winners proudly parading, Livestock judging starts at 9.00am enjoy all the breeds within the Cattle and Sheep rings.  If horses are your interest we have classes ranging from Shetlands to Shires – with the wonderful Private Driving and Heavy Horses in Agricultural Harness taking place in the main ring.

The lower field incorporates all that is countryside with hurdle making, ferret racing, a blacksmiths guild, 100 Vintage Tractors, The West of England Hound Show,  The BHBA Marquee showcasing the fantastic businesses within the Blackdown Hills and surrounding market towns and villages, a Dog Show, comprising both pedigree and fun classes for the pet pooch. If chickens are your interest we have a fantastic Poultry show and sale. We have entertainment in abundance for children with Professor Twistopher’s Punch and Judy, and Donkey Rides.  Our first foray into baking was a huge hit last year, so make an entry for the Honiton Show Home Baking & Preserves Competition, make a “Honiton Show Stopper” or a cake for the President of the Show, we have classes for the under 11’s too! There are Vintage and Classic Cars and we are proud to host the Crash Box & Classic Car Club where in the region of twenty vehicles will be on display.
